Howdy! Wow. It's been a while again. There's nothing much going on with my life right now that's worth blogging aside from reading. And speaking of, I'm here to share to you some of the favorite books I've read for the past months. I started reading three years ago when The Twilight Saga was on the spotlight. Yes, If I remember correctly, that was my first book I've read. And followed by some novels my friends recommended and my favorite series Pretty Little Liars. I basically read 11 books already. Crazy, right? I just love this book series.
I joined Goodreads September last year, which you can track your book collection. I love this site because if it weren't for this, I wouldn't know amazing books I've read this year. And also, it features book challenge where you set a goal to read books as many as you can. This year my goal was only 20 books but as the months goes by, I'm hooked and couldn't stop reading and decided to make it 100 books! Yay!
More after the jump! Its gonna be a looooonnnggggg post! Please bear with me :)
Lauren Oliver - Delirium Trilogy's just too good I wanna die. Seriously. It's dystopian kind of book series and all along I thought it's just like Hunger Games but I am very wrong. Young love story at its finest! I can't freaking wait for the 3rd book to be release early next year.
Delirium - “I love you. Remember. They cannot take it” |
Pandemonium - “If you’re smart, you care. And if you care, you love.” |
John Green - What? Who wouldn't love John Green's novels? I'd kill for his box set! Cried my heart out while The Fault In Our Stars and made my heart hurt while reading Looking for Alaska. I also read his Will Grayson, Will Grayson and will read Paper Towns and Abundance of Katherines next year with a real book. Yep, will also buy copy of The Fault and Alaska. Heehee.
The Fault In Our Stars - “That's the thing about pain... it demands to be felt.” |
Looking for Alaska - “The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.” |
Tammara Webber - She's an amazing writer. Her latest work was Easy and my instant favorite as soon as I finished reading. Exaggerated but I don't care. Haha! I also liked her series called Between the Lines.
Easy - “Love is not the absence of logic but logic examined and recalculated heated and curved to fit inside the contours of the heart” |
Gayle Forman - Basically, Where She Went is a sequel of If I Stay, another heart wrenching novel by Gayle but Where She Went wins my heart. Seriously. It blown me away. I've been bawling my eyes out because of this freaking book! I loved it that it's on Adam's POV and the songs he wrote for Mia. Gaaah! There's tears welled up in my eyes already just writing this post. Hahahaha! Arte.
I just wanted to share my favorite part of this book - Adam's promise to Mia that made my heart ache:
If you stay, I’ll do whatever you want. I’ll quit the band; go with you to New York. But if you need me to go away, I’ll do that too. .. And that would suck, but I’ll do it. I can lose you like that, if I don’t lose you today. I’ll let you go. If you stay.
Where She Went - Here's my favorite song from Adam's album "Collateral Damage" “First you inspect me Then you dissect me Then you reject me I wait for the day That you'll resurrect me "Animate” |
Miranda Kenneally - She's one of my favorite author. Her sports-themed novels are the bomb! Catching Jordan made me want a guy best friend! Hahaha! What? Every girl's dream is a guy best friend, I tell you. Miranda's Hundred Oaks series is a must read.
Catching Jordan - “Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do. To get something better, you know?” |
Since this post is already way too long, I'll just post a list of some books and series that I'm addicted to.
1. Darynda Jones's Charley Davidson series - not the kind of book you read everyday. These books are helluva fun! Grim Reaper and Son of Satan. Charley's witty comebacks plus Reyes' hot bod!
What. The. Heck.
2. Kimberly Derting's The Body Finder series - Scary thriller + yummy romance. Yup! It's good! I'm still waiting for the 4th book coming out next year.
3. Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls series - School of spies! Action packed series! Loveetttt!!! And I just learned that there's going to be book 6!
4. Jandy Nelson's Sky is Everywhere - One of the many books that made me cry and my heart hurt. A must read!
5. Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster - One word: SWOON!
6. Cath Crowley's Graffiti Moon - Art and love. What else can I say?
That's it! Thank you for reading my looooongggg post! Haha! Next year's goal would be 20 owned books! Time for me to invest on real books! Ha! And you could always view my Read bookshelf here for a complete list of my 100 books. If you are a book lover you might as well create an account on Goodreads. And of course, follow or add me. Lol.
